SKIING / SNOWBOARDING

There are 5 ski fields on the Craigieburn Range and one on the Main Divide, at the summit of Arthur's Pass.

Temple Basin is the closest field to Arthur's Pass Village, only 5 km to the North.

Porters is the closest field to Christchurch. Porters is the only commercial field, the remainder being club fields, who welcome non-members as day skiers or on ski weekends. The season is from Late June to October.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING - Cross-country skiing in the area is rough and fairly limited. The Craigieburn, Torlesse Ranges and Kellys Saddle are likely places. It is possible to ski between Broken River, Cheeseman and Craigieburn skifields by traversing the ridge line: Broken River accepts lift passes from both these fields.

Located 12km towards Christchurch from the Arthur's Pass Visitor Centre.

Large Cabins: 5 large cabins available, all with fridge, microwave, electric frying pan, toaster and tea/coffee-making facilities. All with ensuite bathrooms.Family cabins have an open-plan bedroom/lounge/kitchen area consisting of 1 x queen-size bed and 3 single beds. There is a fully operational kitchen available in Moa Lodge if required.

Studio Cabins: We have 3 studio cabins available with fridge, toaster and tea/coffee-making facilities. All with ensuite bathrooms. Studio cabins have open-plan bedroom/kitchen area with 2 units containing 1 x queen-size bed and 1 unit with twin single beds.

MOA LODGE: All 8 rooms conatin 1 x double bed and 1 x single bed. 2 of the rooms have the beds on the same level. 6 of the rooms have a single bunk bed above the foot of the double. All linen, bedding, towels and toiletries are provided. These rooms are for our budget/backpacker guests or any group bookings. The lodge provides a laundry room, full kitchen, dining/lounge facilities with 2 x shared bathrooms.
