ACCESS CLOSED: Due to severe flood damage to a bridge across the Bealey River, access to the Punchbowl Falls, Arthur's Pass Walking (Bridal Veil), Mt Aicken, and Mt Cassidy tracks from the village area is closed until further notice. Both sites can be reached via the Jack's Hut access point on the Arthur's Pass Walking track 3km north of the village.
BOOKABLE HUTS: All serviced huts (Carrington, Casey, Edwards, Hawdon) and Anti-Crow hut in Arthur's Pass National Park are now bookable online, they are no longer "first in - first served". Visit DOC website for more information.
