News...
  • The Punchbowl Falls track will be closed from Monday 30th April for up to 4 weeks whilst track repairs are made! This will also close off access to the Mt Aicken track.
  • The Lake Pearson / Moana Rua campsite is closed until about 4th May whilst earth and road works take place in this area.
  • Taipo River: The original cableway (Scotty's) in the lower Taipo River has been replaced with a 3-wire bridge. This bridge is quite high above the river and trampers using this part of the route should be quite confident at using this type of structure.
  • Casey Hut has burnt down - Casey Hut in the Poulter River catchment burnt down in late 2015. The next closest hut is Trust-Poulter, 5km upstream on the true-right. Good camping sites, water (Casey Stream) and a toilet remains at the old Casey Hut site.
  • The following bivouacs no longer exist! - Hallelujah Bivouac (Andrews Stream), Thompson Bivouac (Thompson Stream), Top Cox Bivouac (Cox River), Waterfall Bivouac (Row Stream)
